Museum of the iron mines of Lorraine
THE
AUMETZ MUSEUM

On the bank, the visitor can take part in a wonderful experience
that of the daily life of the mine workers who worked on the surface
to ensure the smooth running of an expressive array of machines
( a 40 ton Alsthom engine, on display on the bank). These workers used compressors, forges and extracting machines to do their job properly and safely.
Your visit to the mining world will give you the opportunity to see
a production line of liquid oxygen cartridges, as well as slow fuse weaving machines.
The museum also displays a flying bomb V1, dating back to the 2nd World War, this giving a different and unknown aspect to the history
of the iron mines in Lorraine.

The pithead platform, 35 metre above the ground, allows the visitor
to get a unique 360° view of the Pays Haut landscape.
